Welcome to the Early American Digital Library.
Here you will find a treasure trove of images, featuring the people,
events and scenes important to early America's historic past. All of
the images in the library are unique, many are one-of-a-kind. Most are
from engravings produced 150 to 200 years ago from the original paintings.
To access the library
search categories on the left. The thumbnail images you see in the preview
format are reduced in size by approximately one-fifth to one-third of
their original image. Upon ordering, you will receive the digital image
in its original size.

can be downloaded to you directly, or shipped to you on a disk.
Because the ravages of time threaten the loss of historic images from
the past, we have embarked on a program of preserving and archiving
images of the original engravings from this era. This effort continues
to provide new additions to the library.
